What
We Do:
Designers' Jewelry Online brings quality designer art jewelry
from independent artists together in one easy to view online
showcase. We provide customers with a chance to purchase quality
art jewelry from small studio jewelers who make each and every
piece themselves. These artists create a limited quantity
of work that the vast majority of the public never sees. Use
the designer's e-mail address listed on their personal page
or designersjewelry@yahoo.com
to contact them personally about the jewelry. Dayne Sislen
or Debbie LaFara will work directly with you to make sure
you get what you desire.

What Makes Us Unique:
Designers' Jewelry Online is unique because of the high quality
of the materials and workmanship on every piece of jewelry
and the the fact that each and every piece is handmade and
signed by the designer. All pieces featured are one-of-a-kind
or very limited editions. We also offer custom work, personal
services and advice. Unique art jewelry.
Our
Business History: Designers' Jewelry Online has
been offering quality unique handcrafted jewelry on the Web
to our customers since 2000. Dayne Sislen and Debbie LaFara
formed a partnership at that time devoted to making quality
jewelry and and providing access to unique designer work,
directly to the public at a fair price. Handcrafted
jewelry.
WE
USE ONLY THE FINEST MATERIALS:
Silver
We use Sterling silver, fine silver
and reticulating silver. Each has it's special applications.
Fine silver is pure silver, it is too soft for many uses in
jewelry but can be used for hand made mesh chains and decorative
granulation. Sterling silver
is alloyed with other metals such as copper and zinc. To give
it enough strength to stand up to the rigors of daily wear
and to be hammered into hollow pieces. Reticulating silver
is a special alloy containing more copper. It forms wonderful
rippled surface patterns when carefully heated to just below
melting point.
14k
White and Yellow Gold
14k white and yellow gold are popular and durable precious
metals for jewelry. Pure gold, which measures 24 karats, is
too soft for use in jewelry. It is alloyed with other metals
such as silver, copper, nickel, and zinc to increase its strength
and durability. 14k white gold is not as white as platinum,
as it is made from a yellow metal that is turned white mostly
through nickel alloys which can be irritating to some people.
The white gold that Designer's Jewelry Online uses is a Gold
and Palladium alloy, which is more expensive to buy, but less
irritating for most people. It is a wonder warm gray color.
18k
and 22K Yellow Gold
Due to recent advances in alloy technology, 18k gold is now
generally considered to be as durable as 14k gold. Because
18k gold has a higher percentage of pure gold, it has a richer
gold color than 14k gold and is slightly heavier. An 18k gold
setting can cost approximately 25% to 65% more than the same
setting in 14k gold. The use of 22K gold is usually restricted
to items that do not get as much abuse. The deep yellow color
is very desirable. 22K gold can cost considerably more than
even 18K.
Sterling/22K
BI-metal
A
process that fuses a sheet of Sterling silver to a sheet of
22K gold using heat and pressure produces precious metal sheets
that are silver on one side and very deep yellow 22K gold
gold on the other. These sheets can then be hammered and fabricated
just as any other piece of precious metal. Giving the added
benefit of both metals.
Fine
Gemstones and Pearls
We buy quality gemstones and pearls from reputable dealers.
It is not worth our time to use inferior quality materials.
We want you to be completely satisfied with the jewelry you
buy from us.
